Archive Copying and Imaging Services

The Parliamentary Archives reserves the right to copy original records using the copying process or processes which will minimise risk of damage to the records, and to disallow copying of records where the risk of damage to these documents is deemed high. 

The Parliamentary Archives can supply A4 and A3 black and white copies; A4 prints from microfilm, aperture card or microfiche; copies of stock 35mm negative roll microfilm; digital images; and A4 to A0 colour prints of digital images. Searchers may also use their own digital camera to make their own copies, so long as no flash is used, for a charge of £7.50 per day.

For use of images in publications, merchandise, exhibitions, websites and other multimedia please complete the Licence agreement for use of images for non-broadcast (PDF PDF 178 KB)

Methods of Payment

Copies will not be sent out until payment is received under any circumstances.  Payments can be made in the following ways:

  • Cheque or postal order, made payable to 'House of Lords Account'. Cheques must be in pounds sterling and drawn on a UK bank.

  • Online with a credit/debit card or via a Paypal account.  Please let us know if you would like to pay in this way when you confirm your order and we will send you a secure online payment request via email. 

  • BAC payments can be accepted. Please contact us for details.

We aim to dispatch your copies within 10 working days of receipt of payment, but this may vary according to the size and complexity of the order. Please note, orders are dealt with on a strict first-come-first-served basis.

The Parliamentary Archives can provide copies certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments as a true copy of the original record held by the Parliamentary Archives. For charges see our Copying Services Price List.

The Parliamentary Archives does not certify copies of published documents which are generally accessible to members of the public.
