Financial Indicators: Data from FTSE100, as well as oil prices and gold prices.

The FTSE-100 tracks the share-prices of the 100 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. It hit an all-time high of 7,103 in May 2015, passing the previous record high of 6,930 set in December 2009.

Brent Crude Oil

The price of Brent crude oil reached an all-time high above $145/barrel in July 2008. The price fell below $40/barrel in December 2015 for the first time since August 2004. In January 2016 the price fell below $30/barrel for the first time since February 2004, though has since returned to above $40/barrel.

Gold Price

The nominal price of gold exceeded $1,800/ounce for the first time in August 2011, but the metal's price has since moderated considerably. In August 2015, it fell to its lowest level in five and a half years.
