At the Houses of Parliament there are jobs to suit everyone. If you love working with people and providing excellent customer service then we would like to meet you at our Recruitment Open Day on Thursday 31 March 2016.

Members of staff will be available to talk to you about current and future job opportunities and careers in their areas. Places are limited so you will need to book a free ticket in advance.

Recruitment Day schedule

Ticket holders can arrive any time between 3pm and 5pm (last entry 5pm): Registration, refreshments and informal opportunities to talk to people at Parliament who do many of the jobs we advertise.

Examples of some of the customer-facing jobs you can find out about are:

  • Visitor Assistant
  • Retail Assistant  
  • Barista   
  • Waiter/Waitress
  • Doorkeeper 
  • Reception and Facilities Coordinator  
  • Education Assistant  
  • Enquiry Executive
  • Website Assistant 
  • Bookings and Marketing Assistant 
  • Social Media Assistant

You can also meet representatives from Parliament’s award winning Workplace Equality Networks – ParliAble, ParliGender, ParliOut and ParliReach – and the Recruitment and Diversity and Inclusion teams.

5pm to 6pm: Talks from people who work across Parliament about their jobs and how they got to where they are.

6pm to 7pm: Optional tour of the Palace of Westminster to see where we work, and where you could work too!

How to attend the Recruitment Day

Places are limited so please book a ticket in advance. You can do this by calling the Visit Parliament bookings team on 020 7219 4114 (Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm). Alternatively, you can request a ticket via email.

If you would like to find out more about the day, or ask any questions, the Visit Parliament team will be happy to assist.

There is no need to bring your CV to the Recruitment Day.
