Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chair of the Committee, said:

"Numerous stakeholders have expressed concern that they are suffering skill shortages as a result of immigration policies. We need to examine whether the rules to keep unwanted people out of Britain are in fact working in the opposite way, and keeping out those that we really need to make our private and public services work more effectively."
