Working at Parliament: Nursery facilities

Parliament includes an on-site nursery for staff who work for the House. It is available to Members, Members’ staff, House of Commons and PICT employees, House of Lords Peers and staff, Press Gallery media pass holders, Whitehall parliamentary pass holders and contractors situated on the parliamentary estate.

It is a bright and modern facility with capacity for 40 children (aged three months to five years) and offers a stimulating and secure environment for children’s personal educational development.

To find out more about the Nursery or book a visit please contact the Nursery staff. The nursery staff will be able to let you know about availability of places and can supply an application form if required.

Visits and tours 

If you would like a visit you will be taken round the nursery facility by one of the staff and end the tour by meeting the Nursery Manager.

Visits can be arranged Monday to Friday at 10.30am, for 30 minutes, and at 2.30pm, for 30 minutes. The visit times have been set up around the feeding and sleeping arrangements at the nursery.

Standard fees for House of Commons Nursery. Childcare vouchers also welcome.

Service provider

The contracted service providers are London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), a Westminster based organisation established in 1903. LEYF are rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. 

OFSTED report

OFSTED carried out its first inspection 5 months after the nursery opened and have rated the setting “outstanding” for its effectiveness in engaging with parents and carers.
