Natural Capital Committee

The Environmental Audit Committee examines the Government response to the Natural Capital Committee's (NCC) “State of Natural Capital” report. In June the EAC published a report on ‘Well-being’, which included an examination of the work of the NCC and recommended that the NCC be put a permanent footing and its proposal for a 25-year action plan be adopted by the Government. The Government has now announced that the NCC’s remit will continue to September 2015 (a 6-month extension to its 3-year current term). The EAC intends to hear from Prof Dieter Helm, chair of the NCC, as part of this inquiry.
