Following the success of the initial constituency training days in Manchester, Exeter, Perth and Belfast, there is to be a constituency staff open day on Tuesday 3 February in Westminster.
If you’d like to attend then please email email@example.com by Thursday 29 January, including any dietary or access requirements.
Date: Wednesday 3 February 2015
Time: 9.30am – 3.15pm
Location: Attlee Suite, Portcullis House, Westminster
Here’s the note advertising the event:
This event will be the last in the series, and we aim to make the day worthwhile for you and to provide:
- important information about the General Election arrangements for May 2015;
- general information about House services available to you including office security;
- information from IPSA;
- access to PICT, L&D and other teams from the House; and
- chance to access some Library specialists
We want to hear about what we can do to improve our services to constituency staff, and what we should cover in regional events after the Election, to help new staff setting up constituency offices. What did you wish someone had told you when you started working for a Member? Also, please think beforehand about the House services you find most helpful (or least helpful).
Lunch will be provided, and a chance to network with us and other constituency office staff in your region. IPSA has recognised the day as a training event; as such the costs of travel are eligible to be reclaimed through allowances in the normal way.
Further information on the background to constituency open days is available on the intranet:
Tour the Palace
There is a chance to take part in an optional tour of the Palace of Westminster at 8.30am – please specify if you would like to take part in this when you register. Places are limited so these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please allow ample time for access and security.
