Parliamentary training

Free Parliamentary training is available to organisations or individuals based in the UK wanting to know more about the UK Parliament and how they can get involved with the work of the House of Commons and House of Lords.

The training sessions are organised by the Parliamentary Outreach team and are strictly non-partisan.

What is covered in Parliamentary training sessions

Each training session is tailored to the specific interests of your organisation. They can include any aspect of Parliamentary work, including:

  • An introduction to Parliament

  • Contacting MPs and Lords

  • How Bills progress through Parliament

  • Parliamentary questions

  • Select Committee inquiries

  • Using the Parliamentary website to track particular subjects

Where parliamentary training is held

Parliamentary Outreach has officers based around the UK. In most instances, we can provide training at a location most convenient for you. Depending on your preference, training sessions can be scheduled to last from one hour to a whole day.
