MP and Lord visits

Bring a parliamentarian into your school and introduce your students to the men and women who make the big decisions about running the country.

Parliamentarians in schools

Members of the House of Lords and the House of Commons regularly visit primary and secondary school students across the UK.

Bring a parliamentarian to your school to talk about the work and impact of Parliament, and its relevance for the lives of young people.

MP visits
To discuss the possibility of a Member of Parliament visiting your school, contact your local MP directly

Peer visits
To arrange for a Member of the House of Lords to visit your school (subject to availability) please contact the Lord Speaker's Office

Preparing for a visit
You can order a Parliament and Schools information pack to help you prepare for a visit from an MP or Peer and ensure your students get the most out of it.

It contains lesson plans, stand-alone activities, and teachers' notes, as well as information about the visit itself. The activities are aimed at key stages three and four.

To order a pack please email the Hansard Society or you can download a PDF version.
