School tours of Parliament

A year-round programme of visits for UK students aged 7-18. Tour the awe-inspiring Palace of Westminster 

About the session:

Explore the Palace of Westminster learning about the history of Parliament and the art and architecture of the buildings which have come to be so recognised. This experience is great for those who want a short visit to see and experience first-hand the Palace of Westminster through a focused, educational tour. 

Areas covered by these tours will vary as access to the debating chambers is not always possible due to the working nature of the House. 

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes 

Places per tour: 20 (to include students & teachers) 

Visiting times and information 

Palace of Westminster tours will run at the following times from Monday to Wednesday.

09:05 - 10:20
09:15 - 10:30
10:20 - 11:35
10:25 - 11:40
10:55 - 11:50
11:45 - 13:00
11:50 - 13:05
11:55 - 13:10
12:00 - 13:15

Each time slot is for a maximum of 20 persons, including staff. Our adult/pupil ratio for this programme is 1 adult for every 19 pupils. Our minimum group size is 5 children and and no more than 2 accompanying adults.

Introduction to Parliament

About the session

A year-round programme of visits for UK students aged 7-18. Discover how Parliament works by embarking on a guided tour through the amazing building followed by an interactive quiz about the three parts of Parliament. This experience is great for those who want to see and experience first-hand the Palace of Westminster through a focused, educational tour and to take part in a 30 minute plenary session.

Areas covered by these tours will vary as access to the debating chambers is not always possible due to the working nature of the House.

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

Places per session: 20 (to include students & teachers )

Introduction to Parliament will run at the folowing times:

Mondays only

09:00 - 10:45
09:45 - 11:30
10:30 - 12:15
