Email alerts for individual pages

Users can be notified when a specific page has been updated by subscribing to the website’s email alerting service.

The pages included in the email alerting service will have an envelope icon   and related text. The link will open a new window to allow users to sign up to alerts for that page.

Quick subscribe service

The Quick Subscribe page lists all the pages included in the email alert service, enabling users to make a selection from all of the pages together..

To access this page you need to click on the quick subscribe link and register with the service. Once you have registered you will be taken to a list of all available subscriptions.

You should be able to access your user profile and delete all or part of your email alerts from your subscription profile page, which you can access via the email alert login page.

PDF links within bulletins

There are a few specific problems that some people have reported in regard to opening PDFs via the links in subscriber bulletins. The following suggestions may help:

  • If you receive e-mails in text format you may find that very long links break within the email bulletin. This may be because of settings within your e-mail program which will break the URL into two or more lines. The problem is that the line break is often a hard return. This causes the link to be broken. In this scenario, you will need to copy and paste the address into their browser window. Prior to doing so it may be necessary to paste the link into a text editing program and edit out the hard returns. An alternative in this case is to receive e-mails in HTML format.
  • In Internet Explorer, some PDF documents may open a blank page. If this happens we recommend that you hit the 'Refresh' button in their browser (or Ctrl+R on the keyboard) to reload the PDF document.
  • An alternative solution may require the you to make changes to the Acrobat(r) or Reader(r) application. In Adobe Acrobat Reader (or Acrobat itself) you can go to edit/preferences/options and check the "Display PDF In Browser" option. Leaving this box unchecked forces Acrobat to open the document inside the application, not inside the web page. If problems continue it is also possible to follow the suggestions in the Adobe support document located at their web site.
  • There are alternative software options to Adobe Pdf Reader and further information can be obtained from our Information about Pdf Readers web page.

Security Notice about scam emails

Due to the increasing amount of fraudulent emails circulating the Internet, we would like you to review the following guidelines to ensure the security and integrity of your data within the GovDelivery system.

One of the more common scams today is the practice of "phishing".  In a phishing attack, email or instant messaging is used to guide people to a Web site that may look quite legitimate, but is masquerading as a login page of a website you would normally use.  You are asked to "login" or disclose confidential and/or sensitive information, which is captured, and can then be used to interact with the actual system with the stolen credentials.

Most Importantly, GovDelivery will never initiate contact with you (phone, email, instant messaging, etc) asking for your username and/or password.  If you receive any suspicious request asking for this type of information, please contact your account manager immediately and forward the request to

Steps you can take to protect yourself from phishing scams: 

  • Do not open email attachments from senders you do not recognize

  • Do not respond to emails requesting passwords, usernames, or other sensitive and/or confidential information

  • Be wary of emails containing GovDelivery images and logo's embedded in the email

  • Be extremely cautious with emails that indicate an urgent response is required

  • These "scare" tactics usually involve account deletion or past-due bill scenario's

  • Verify the authenticity of any website that asks for your sensitive information (username, password, credit cards, etc).  See the section below for details on verifying the authenticity of the GovDelivery site.

  • Educate yourself on the basics of phishing attempts and how to spot them

  • Use industry standard security solutions to detect and alert you to the presence of spam and malware

  • Use strong passwords (containing upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters)

  • GovDelivery provides a built-in password strength meter, on the password reset form, to assist you in your password choices

  • Ensure that the access level assigned to specific administrators is not higher than the level required to use GovDelivery effectively

  • Remove administrators from the GovDelivery system when they no longer require access or are otherwise inactive
