Parliamentary drop-in sessions

Parliamentary Outreach holds free regular drop-in sessions for anyone who wants to find out more about the workings of the UK Parliament.

The monthly drop-in sessions, which form part of a programme to spread awareness of the processes and relevance of the institution of Parliament, are open to anyone with an interest in learning more about the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

Next session: 1 December 2011

The next drop-in session will provisionally take place on Thursday 1 December from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Grimmond Room, in the Houses of Parliament. Details will be confirmed shortly.

The session will include information on:

  • the role of Parliament
  • the role of an MP
  • the difference between Parliament and Government
  • how a Bill becomes law
  • how you can get involved with the work of Parliament
  • general elections

The session is free but we would ask that places are booked in advance.
